Via Telephone

Most certainly one-on-one in-person counseling would be considered the best approach to developing the ideal therapeutic relationship between a therapist and client. However, we do not live in an ideal or perfect world, and sometimes the reality is such that a person is not able to drive to an office to meet with a therapist for help with his/her life problems. Furthermore, sometimes working to arrange an in-person appointment in itself becomes a problem.

You can schedule a counseling session by telephone with TheLoveDoctor™ and not have to worry about fighting traffic getting to the office, who will take care of the children in your absence, how you look or what you wear, and be sitting in the comfort of your favorite lazy-boy recliner while you are talking to her on the phone. Telephone counseling is a viable alternative source of help when traditional psychotherapy is not accessible. It's effective, private, and will be conducted by this qualified and ethical professional.

Please understand that TheLoveDoctor™ will make a commitment to your scheduled appointment and kindly requests the same courtesy on your part. Therefore, the non-refundable fee is required at the time of scheduling.

The fee for a scheduled 15-minute telephone session with TheLoveDoctor™ is $25.
The fee for a scheduled 30-minute telephone session with TheLoveDoctor™ is $45.
The fee for a scheduled 45-minute telephone session with TheLoveDoctor™ is $55.
The fee for a scheduled 60-minute telephone session with TheLoveDoctor™ is $60.

Now you can meet with TheLoveDoctor™ for personal counseling or advice and form an effective helping relationship with her from the privacy of your own computer.

Online counseling AKA "e-therapy" is when a professional counselor or psychotherapist talks with you over the Internet to give you some kind of mental health assistance or emotional help. It could be in response to one question or an ongoing conversation; it could be by e-mail, chat, or video.

E-therapy is a viable alternative source of help when traditional psychotherapy is not accessible. It's effective, private, and will be conducted by this qualified and ethical professional. E-therapy is not psychotherapy and should not be compared to psychotherapy, nor is it a substitute for traditional psychotherapy. However, many people cannot or will not see a therapist in person, and so for them e-therapy is the only way to get help from a professional therapist.

TheLoveDoctor™ offers the following scheduled e-therapy options:

  • Instant Message Chat on either MSN, AOL, or Yahoo
  • Video and/or Internet Phone Conferencing using Yahoo or Windows NetMeeting with either MSN IM or AOL IM

In-Office Counseling Appointments

Dr. Matsukas local clientele can now schedule appointments online!
(The calendar is updated daily <Click here to see availability>)

A $25 deposit will reserve an appointment via online scheduling which will be credited towards the session fee at the time of the appointment, and will be non-refundable. A total fee-for-service is required at the time services are rendered and can be paid with cash, check, or credit card.

If a person is unable or chooses to not utilize insurance benefits, the fee-for-service will be $78 per session. If a person wishes to receive health insurance reimbursement, Dr. Matsukas will provide a completed HCFA Claim Form and stamped envelope at the conclusion of each session as a courtesy so clients can easily submit a request for payment compensation. Such reimbursements are usually paid and received within a 30-day period. The amount of any such fee-for-service is dependent on the contract held with the Provider Network and varies from network to network; therefore, it is recommended that insurance companies be contacted prior to an initial consultation to determine the exact fee-for-service that will be charged.

It is suggested that the following questions be asked of the insurance company: Does my policy cover outpatient mental health services, and if so, what are the benefits? What is the standard allowable fee for an initial evaluation? What is the standard allowable fee for subsequent sessions? And, if applicable, What is the standard fee for family therapy? What is the standard fee for biofeedback?

Finally, most HMO's require an authorization to receive outpatient mental health services (sometimes referred to as behavioral health services), and it will be the client's responsibility to be informed. As a courtesy to holders of HMO policies, Dr. Matsukas will obtain all necessary authorizations after the first session as required for services.
